Description: Rick Lombardo of SLS was part of a team of Missouri and Illinois lawyers who represented a 79-year-old former railroad worker who died of mesothelioma during the pendency of the case. The client was exposed to asbestos during his many years of work with railroads in the 1940’s, 50’s, 60’s and 70’s as well as afterwards when he worked with his own company repairing locomotives around the country. Defendants included the railroads, several asbestos manufacturers and several premises liability defendants.
The total settlement will be between $2.5 and $3 million after all recoveries from solvent defendants and bankruptcy settlement trusts and will be shared by the family members.
