TRIAL VERDICT:  SLS attorney Jayson Ford represents a general surgeon who is exonerated by jury in Clay County, Missouri

Description: 

Plaintiff underwent a bowel resection surgery, which lead to multiple additional surgeries, infection and an ischemic stroke. SLS attorney Jayson Ford represented the general surgeon who performed the surgeries. Ford admitted to the jury that the patient indeed encountered several surgical complications and that patient suffered an ischemic stroke due to her profound illness. The important point stressed by Ford was that these devastating complications can occur despite the best of medical care being administered to the patient. The jury returned a verdict for the general surgeon. Plaintiff requested damages in excess of $1.5 million. 

Verdict: 

General surgeon was exonerated by the jury on all counts.
