Experience
Mr. Forney has been actively practicing since 1988 and has been a member/shareholder of Shaffer Lombardo Shurin since 1994. He has extensive experience in malpractice defense/personal injury litigation as well as first party insurance issues. In addition to Mr. Forney's experience on behalf of insurance companies, he is also involved in the defense of products liability cases, and representing commercial clients on business related litigation issues.
Mr. Forney is also a Regional Editor on behalf of the National Conference of Guaranty Funds with editorial responsibilities for the NCIGF Annotated Model Insurance Guaranty Act. He has been awarded Martindale-Hubbell’s highest “AV” rating and been listed on the “Super Lawyer” list for Missouri.

Mr. Forney is admitted to practice before the State Bar of Missouri, the State Bar of Kansas, the State Bar of Iowa, the United States District Court for the Western District of Missouri and the United States District Court for the District of Kansas. He is a member of the Missouri Bar Association, the Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association, the Iowa Bar Association, the Kansas Bar Association, and associate member of the Missouri Association of Mutual Insurance Companies. He is also a member of the Federation of Defense and Corporate Counsel.

Education
Mr. Forney received his Bachelor of Arts degree in 1985 from the University of Iowa and his Juris Doctorate in 1988 from the University of Iowa. His representation of clients spans both rural and urban venues in Kansas and Missouri.
Personal
Mr. Forney and his wife, Jenny, have two daughters. Mr. Forney is an avid fisherman and golfer.
